MOY TPRI Complete

The MOY of the TPRI has been completed for grades K,1, and 2. The classroom teachers were able to finish the administration and we were able to review the student data. The TPRI test is a new one for this year and the revisions seem to be giving us better data. The whole point of this action research was to track fluency and fluency strategies used to increase a student's fluency in reading. The question is ...Are the strategies used effective and are they raising student fluency? If so, this should increase comprehension. We have adjusted our path and will continue to monitor fluency this spring. Our 2nd grade students that need additional instruciton have changed and we are now working with some new students and giving increased instruction to some others. We are all looking forward to the final results after the EOY administration!

MOY TPRI Window appraoching!

The MOY TPRI testing window is almost closed. The data will be disaggregated and the adjustments will be made after fluency and comprehension rates are examined. This is an exciting part of the action research. It gives us an opportunity to look at the strategies used to increase fluency and decide if they are working. As soon as the window closes and the data has been reviewed, I will post the next steps of the action research project.
